Incorporated in the Republic of Lebanon, in 1940 the company was established as Khater Frères in Beirut specialized in Heating, Plumbing & Drainage works, and simultaneously in Damascus (Syria) with affiliated Company named Chammas & Khater.

Since 1960, the company operates as Ets Halim Khater and in 1968 extended its activities for carrying out design and installation of air-conditioning works.

Early in 1970, Mr. Antoine H. Khater and Mr. Salah Hashash both having wide experience in HVAC joined & managed the Company.

The Company enlarged its area of operations from 1972 to contribute to the development of the Middle East Region in the field of mechanical services contracting.

The Company opened a registered branch in Bahrein under the sponsorship of Arabian Establishment for Technical Contracting, owned by Mr. Farouk Y. Almoayed.

In Doha (Qatar) the Company conducted its operations under the sponsorship of Mannai Trading Company, owned by Mr. Ahmed Mannai.

In the United Arab Emirates, the Company operated from 1974 till 1979 as a joint venture with Air et Chaleur, Brussels.

In 1979, the Company established an affiliated company in Paris called Khater-France s.a.r.l. in order to provide from Europe sufficient backup for its International operations and to ensure a proper coordination of its diverse activities with adequate supply of material and technical support.

KHATER ENGINEERING & TRADING (KET) was founded in 1983 as a Subsidiary to Ets. Halim Khater s.a.l.

Since 1988, KET become legally independent, although a strong link with Ets. Halim Khater is still maintained as  the General Manager of KET is the Chairman of the board of Ets. Halim Khater.
